concert on Sunday, September 19 =96 3:30 PM at St. Alban=92s Episcopal =
Church, 76 Saint Alban=92s Place in Staten Island, New York. This program =
is presented by the Music at St. Alban=92s concert series.
Repertoire for Aires Tropicales - Dance Music From Around the World =
includes the New York Premiere of Judah Adashi=92s Songs and Dances of =
Macondo, based on Gabriel Garcia Marquez' One Hundred Years of Solitude, =
William Grant Still=92s Folk Suite No 4 and Adolorido and Yaravi from =
Miniatures, Paquito D=92Rivera=92s Aires Tropicales, Carl MaultsBy=92s Rock=
in=92 =
in Jerusalem, Leonard Bernstein=92s Danzon (arr. Oldham), some Colombian =
dances and some tangos including Piazzolla's Libertango.

Members of Quintet of the Americas are Sato Moughalian, flute, Matt =
Sullivan, oboe, Nicholas Gallas, clarinet, Barbara Oldham, horn and =
Maureen Strenge, bassoon. Founded in Bogota, Colombia in 1976, the =
Quintet has specialized in bringing music new music from the Western =
hemisphere to audiences in the United States since its arrival in New =
York in 1979. The group has enjoyed an international career that has =
taken them to concert halls throughout the Americas, the Caribbean, and =
Eastern Europe. They are currently in residence in The Department of =
Music and Performing Arts in The Steinhardt School at New York =
