Have you tried a straight pillow; e.g. from your bed? They usually
aren't 2 inches thick, but sometimes will cut it. I know what I have
in mind does not always turn out to be what I wanted. There are these
great disintegrated foam-rubber pillows that I have that work great
for hard chairs. They fluff up nicely and can fit into confined
spaces. I prefer them to the fiberfill and molded foam rubber pillows
(fiberfill is fine when new, but bunches with many washings and molded
foam rubber is, well, molded; it has its own shape that, though
flexible, doesn't necessarily fit into a space you want to put it in).

I have no idea how these "disintegrated foam rubber" pillows became
that way. My nanny (dad's mum) gave them to me one time I visited. I
think she was down-sizing. So, I can't say whether these pillows were
once molded foam rubber. However, I can say that the molded foam
rubber pillows that we have owned crumble with age and leak this
dreadful sandy stuff. Whereas the foam rubber of the pillows from
nanny do not make sand and consists of pieces around an inch or two
big. They have to be more than 15 years old. Maybe 25 or so years
old?
