I dont have any basis for this.. but the only time I ever had a problem with mouthpieces turning green is with selmer. So maybe it's just selmer.

I was just curious.. is the build up on the inside on the tip? or along the sides of the outside? or both? On my mouthpiece, I only get build up (that sticks when you clean it) on the sides on the outside of my mouthpiece. I just brush it with toothpaste and ignore it.

Before I knew not to submerge the cork, I boiled the whole mouthpiece. nothing happened except it got cleaned. I still use the same MP today so maybe you could roll the dice and try that. thats probably not the best advice though.
