It's entirely necessary, at least in my professional opinion, for any sort of collaborative product that involves more than 2 people. Source control, change control, check out/ check in, error tracking, workflow and all the other drudge work needs to be there. I'm happy to do the drudge work.

Thanks, but this kind of stuff is what I do for my "day" jobs. It's a relatively simple application of a directed multigraph. I have all the nodes, but few edges. "All" I have to do is build an interface to create the edges and edge attributes. In my spare time (2 full-time jobs right now, a lot of travel between Detroit and Dallas, and college courses for fun. :) ).
