I totally agree. But I would propose that folks who are curious find a
waveform (signal) generator, hook it up to an audio amplifier and speaker, and
then "listen" to the audio output of sine, sawtooth, square, etc. waveforms
and note how the brain perceives each of the sounds produced and then compare
them to those produced by various musical instruments.
