The Hovhaness piece I played with orchestra. It is a peaceful and
pretty piece. I enjoyed listening to our oboist.

I imagine a bit of an angelic choir around 1:40

Andante Espressivo:

I suppose espressivo refers to the tension in this movement? The wind
section at 2:43 sounds melancholy.

It has been a long time since I have listened to it.

A Hovhaness biography

Mt. St Helens blew up about the time I was born.

Hovhaness comments in the second part that critics' comments can be
mental fleas; the characterization brings to mind mind worms and ear
worms, which his music isn't.

I see what Kevin Fay means that Hovhaness likes mountains.

It is living music.
