Yes, I audited Benade's physics 319 - Acoustics of Music and physics 323 - Acoustic Evolution of Wind Instruments in the mid 1970's when I was a grad student (in Math) at Case Western Reserve U. No, my memory isn't that good -- I just took a look at the wonderful hand-written notes he distributed with his classes -- probably the only notes I've saved from back then. I also still have some of the experimental plastic pipe flutes and clarinets I made while taking his classes. A lot of his style and humor come through in the book _Horns, Strings, and Harmony_, which everyone should read.
