Hi,

We just did Chicago here in East Tennessee. What a wonderful show, and
wonderful music. It was really a fun show to do.

Bret Pimental has a good site listing the doublings:
http://www.bretpimentel.com/woodwinds/doubling/shows/

Chicago
1: Piccolo, clarinet, soprano saxophone, alto saxophone
2: Piccolo, clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone
3: Clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone
saxophone

Chicago (2005 tour)
1: Piccolo, clarinet, soprano saxophone, alto saxophone
2: Piccolo, clarinet, soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone
3: Bass clarinet, soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone

We did it without piccolo, substituting effer instead. Worked really well.
All the charts are good, and each has its moments of spotlight. Chicago was
probably the funnest show I've ever done, and what a band we had!

Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to your question. Clarinet is
featured books 1 and 3, bass clarinet has some killer solos, as does
baritone. Sop sax shines, alto less so. I'd say there is no lead chart.
Whatever chart you get, you'll like.

Best wishes!
Vann Joe Turner
