I've had this problem on too many occasions! You did not specify
material your 'A' is made of... wood vs resin. I'd be very afraid of
horn breaking. My challenges were both with my R-13 Buffet with a
too-tight (oops) Fobes barrel; and Thibouville bass 'net with a resin
barrel.

My thought was to not have the body of the instrument warm, as it would
be swollen -- even a few thousandth's of an inch; but, perhaps instead
to "swell" the barrel. So, I left each 'net out to cool, and nuked a
washcloth in microwave, applying same to barrel. After roughly a half
minute, I put horn behind my knees, while sitting in a chair, and using
my legs to hopefully keep instrument perfectly straight, pulled and
twisted.

Bion, on both occasions, I got lucky! Swearing I never wish to "go
there again", I then took both horns to a great repair person who put
respective barrels on his lathe, to ensure it's not replicated. He took
off a fraction of a smithereen (technical term), and I've not had a
problem since.

Again, perhaps I was lucky, but this technique did in fact work for
me.... obviously no guarantee re your dilemma.

Best wishes!
