Interesting. I honestly don't think I ever had anyone suggest which mpc to
buy, based on how easy it was to put on the clarinet. Seriously, did they
say why it was easier? That strikes me as a bit strange.

For most of my career, I played a Selmer cryastal mpc. I suppose one reason
it was a good match was because my instruments were Selmers. (My mother
bought the set for me when I graduated from high school in 1961.) The
crystal was the recommendation of my clarinet prof. My ligature, I don't
remember the braand name. It had two screws, and had a metal bar on either
side of the opening to hold the reed. I tried a variety of them, but never
found one that I liked better. I noticed you said Rico reeds in an earlier
msg. The reference to VD reeds brings back many horror stories. I had
two full foxes that I gave away to a student. I could never use them.

I no longer have my Bb/A. Thannks to a combination of diabetic neuropothy
and arthritis, the only thing I can play is my bass -- and the left hand
pinky doesn't always go where I tell it.
