Yes. My repairman uses Christmas tinsel - he just tapes a strand onto the end of a drinking straw to make a feeler gauge. Cheap, and lasts a lot longer than you'd think.

the tone hole, close the key lightly, and pull on the stick. If you feel
resistance, the pad is closing at that spot. Check at several points all
around to find the points where the drag is minimal or non-existent. This
will tell you where the leaks are. We do it all the time in the repair
shop. We use mylar strips. They last longer!
