Dear Ken,

Good to know about checking pad seal using a strip of paper. I will
have to ask a repair tech in person. Thank you very much.

I have located leaks using the air pressure method, I described. I
would use my knee to stop the end, use one hand to close the tone
holes, blow with a good seal around the top end and wave my hand up
and down around the outside of the joint I am checking (that is, if I
hear an air leak). It will tell me if the pad is tilted the wrong way
and I can heat and re-seat it from there.
