I skimmed this earlier, but a third reading shows that I have some
comments on the below thoughts:

Too much toothpaste often makes my throat dry and scratchy; I use a
pea sized amount of Colgate. I think it is fluoride precipitating
magnesium so my salivary glands can't get enough ATP to work right.

Tea and coffee often make my throat dry and scratchy as well. Maybe
it is the alkaloids?
