Wow, lucidity is breaking through. We have been debating a phenomenon using
simple approximate mathematical solutions that require impossibly complex
ones in respect of real instruments. With a side order of confused
definitions etc.

All you need know is that in the clarinet the position of the node is not at
the first open tone hole but some distance lower down which depends on a
number of physical parameters some of which are difficult to measure. Tuning
for equal temperament over all registers is impossible and a compromise must
be made as to the size shape and position of tone holes and the clearances
under pads.

Some acoustics departments have extended the good earlier work of Benade et
al which though basically sound been slightly modified.

Reading more modern reports will be far more instructive than anything I can
post.
