Coming into this discussion quite late, I went to the BBoard and read the
original posted article on bore design copied from the Newmark course and
the strand of comments, which seem innocuous. It is not credited and there
is no current reference to Bangham on the Newmark site that I could find. (I
own some of his horns, too, so am curious about the connection).

To me, Its content seems entirely plausible. The article seems deliberately
simplified, possibly for a non-technical audience. Because I also do not
know enough about bore design to know if it is factually correct, I would
welcome Ken's elaborating on the reasons why he claims it is in error, which
act as a teaser to the rest of the readership. To me, Tony's BBoard request
for further information seems just that.

Care to give it a go, Ken? Without the personal history, which really
doesn't interest our readership?
