I would say that he then goes on to 'spin' events that have occurred on the BBoard and the Historical Clarinet Board.

When I have time, I will make another post, under another heading, to answer what he says in detail; but I just want to state the essential fact here, so as not to distract or bore members of the list with what has become rather tedious work to me, writing, and probably to them, reading.

Ken said of the article in question (you can find a link to it in his post) that "While it has some interesting material, it's FULL of errors and misinformation. For every good idea, there's an idiotic one."

He then refused to justify his remark in any way whatever.

Contrast this with the attitude taken to the article today by Jennifer Jones, a poster whom I always enjoy reading. She didn't like it much, it turns out; but she read it, and said why she didn't like it. Brava her. She's a proper, responsible person, and we need her, and others like her, on this list.

You see, I believe that it is immoral behaviour to say of an article in the public domain that it is full of errors and misinformation, and then just shut up, and refuse to respond.

So I have been on at Ken about it for some time. Every time I respond to anything he writes, I bring the matter up. (These are the 'personal attacks' he complains of.) Finally he has responded; but, notice, not to say anything substantial about the article.

Ken makes much of Daniel Bangham's name, and my connection with him; but in truth, the author of the article is irrelevant.

Of course, you may think that what he did ISN"T immoral behaviour.

But if so, I have no respect for you; and I say that we probably DON'T need you, or others like you, on this list.

As I have written elsewhere: in the past, and on the whole, I have respected Ken's contributions. All he has to do to redeem himself with me is to say, EITHER that the article is not, and never has been, "FULL of errors and misinformation," etc; OR to say what errors and misinformation it is FULL of.
