Because Tony continues his personal attacks on me, and because readers
of the Klarinet list may not be familiar with his similar behavior on
the Clarinet Board and the Historical Clarinet Board, I must claim a
sort of personal privilege.

In August 2008, a poster asked about an article on bore design at
http://www.woodwindcourse.co.uk/user/image/clarinet_bore_design.doc.
I read it, though it was cursory with many mistakes, and said so on
the Clarinet Board.

Over a year later, Tony reopened the string to demand that I explain
and justify in detail why the article was bad. I ignored him. He
then began a new thread "To Ken Shaw," once again demanding that I
explain myself. He justified his demand with the following (IMHO
bizarre) explanation:

1. Daniel Bangham made Tony's period reproduction clarinets, based on
period bore designs.

2. Tony had not asked Mr. Bangham whether he had read the article I
commented on or had based his designs on it. Indeed, he admitted that
he had not spoken at all to Mr. Bangham concerning the article or my
criticism of it.

3. Nevertheless, Tony claimed to be insulted on Mr. Bangham's behalf
because I had somehow attacked the principles on which he made his
clarinets.

I again refused to be drawn out, writing that I had read the article,
found it to be inferior and had no inclination to read it again simply
to satisfy Tony's curiosity. On each of the strings, I got strong
defenses from other posters, who said that Tony had stepped out of
line, and the operators of the board terminated the strings.

Since that time, Tony has been making insulting comments about me at
every opportunity.

I am well known on the Clarinet board, the Early Clarinet board and
this Klarinet list. Many people have told me that they await my
postings with pleasure, and a number of postings have been put on the
"Best of the Best" "Keepers" list. (More, in fact, than Tony has.)

Also, Tony has attacked other posters with whom he disagrees and
managed to drive away more than one valuable member.

I think that if Tony likes the article, we can simply agree to
disagree. It certainly does not justify misbehavior from a
distinguished player who should know better.
