I don't do the Clarinet BB (this list is enough to keep up with!) so my lack
of support was not intentional! Now I've read it, I see that a number of the
responders in that thread did support your attitude, though there were no
comments on the technical argument.

I too would be interested to know about the alleged errors and idiotic
ideas. I find the article informative and, where my knowledge overlaps,
accurate. It's some time since I've read Benade's books and papers, though I
have read most of them in the past. I didn't find anything idiotic. But I am
willing to learn, as, I know, you are yourself.

The only error I found was the assertion that no maker has taken Benade's
theories and attempted to put them into practice; you can, of course buy a
"Benade NX Clarinet" from Stephen Fox, and read about the theory and the way
he has attempted to put it into practice, on his website. I've even played
one, but only briefly.

Good. My criticism of you is not really personal; it is criticism of your
behaviour. You choose to relabel it as personal.

Since you now will respond to me on clarinet matters, perhaps you will do us

...which is a clarinet matter through and through.

THAT is my only real beef with you -- that, and your subsequent
prevarication on the matter. Sort it out, and our disagreement is over.

I have to say that I am astounded that no-one on the BBoard has supported me
on this. It makes me think less of these lists as responsible communities
of enquiry.
