There's a synergy in a live performance that just doesn't happen with a
recording or a broadcast, although the broadcast is of a live performance
can come close. It's just not the same -- so I absolutely hope that live
performances never go away!

Besides, as a middling amateur, I'll NEVER be offered a recording contract,
but I love to play. Live performances are my only opportunities.

The same is true of sports and the movies, too, actually.

the last throes? What about music in the round? I have been to a few
intimate piano recitals where we sat in the choir stalls. That way, no one
is miles and miles from the stage. Just like Lang Park, great seats all
round.... But then, I am speaking from a Brisbane, Queensland point of view
(and one-eyed passionate Broncos supporter)
