Oliver wrote "More than a decade ago I found the MIDI file on the web
of Louis Spohr's Oktett, Opus 32, for A Clarinet, two horns, violin,
two violas, cello and contrabass. I downloaded it, imported it into
Finale, fixed up a few corrupted spots and put it up on my page
without articulation and dynamics.
The articulation and dynamics have now been added. The files are
available for download and your playing pleasure."

Thank-you Oliver!!
People like me, who organize chamber concerts and run chamber music
festivals are eternally reflecting on repertoire possibilities and
instrumental restrictions (eg. 'I can't program that because it
requires two violas).
With the Spohr Octet you provide in Finale, I can extract one of the
viola parts and transform it into a 2nd violin part. Voila, the string
part is now playable by a standard string quartet plus bass.
PS the website of my June chamber festival in London, ON is at:

click on "Concerts" to see the repertoire.
