I have Prokofieff's Love of three oranges suite for bass clarinet in C, and
I wonder if the same thing happened there. Also, Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier
Suite is atypically high for bass clarinet, and I wonder if the publisher-
not Strauss, transcribed the basset horn part in the opera for the bass
clarinet in the suite.

I continue to be shocked daily.
