Could be metal.=A0 It looks like plastic to me and sounds like plastic when=
I tap it and isn't magnetic but I'm not concerned enough to saw into it.=
=A0 In any case the rubber covering is nice.=A0 I just wish I could adjust =
it to where I like it.
