Dear List,

I'll be performing next weekend around Seattle in three performances
with the group Simple Measures. I hope that you'll be able to
attend. If you have never been to a Simple Measures performance
before, they're lots of fun, with audience interaction,
question-answer, theme concerts, salon-style first half (a few short
pieces and movements), and a very hoity-toity-free atmosphere.

This series features a theme of Avian Creatures, and features Thomas
Albert's wonderful sextet "13 Ways." It was inspired by Wallace
Stevens' poems "Thirteen ways of looking at a blackbird," and we have
commissioned art to go with the poems and music, as well as had a new
piece written just for these concerts! There will also be music of
Olivier Messiaen from his "Quartet for the End of Time," which was
written in a prisoner of war camp during WW II.
