Dan,
If you look at my signature, you'll notice that I fix cases. Since
it is my business to know, I will tell you that: 1. Buffet doesn't
make its cases and 2. They wouldn't have keys anyway. So you need to
replace the latches. I have those kind of latches, and I can probably
get ones without a key, if you want. I can change one or both of the
latches. Contact me or go to my web site: www.case-closed.us and see
what I do.

I recently sold my Buffet Attache doubl clarinet case that I bought
probablyfifteen years ago when I got my first A clarinet in high
school.. This case never gave me a day of problem in the 6 years or
so that I used it until I got my Orly triple case and started using
that exclusively. Granted, The Buffet case was always in a case
cover. But the buyer has written to me on more than one occaision
complaining of thee case popping open whil carrying it. and has
asked for the key so that they may lock it.

This case has a simple two-pronged metal "key" where the prongs stick
into hole on the locking mechanism that turns to lock the ltch. it
does not have a full pin-tumbler style locking mechanism which
requires a specific key to open the individual lock.

I have no way ov verifying the buyer's story of the case falling open
unexpectedly. but as I want to maintain a reputation of being good
to my word, I'd like to try to find this type of key to be able to
give them something. My offer, though it means not being able to
sell it as I had planned, was to send them the original Buffet case
cover that was made for that model case specifically. I have been
selling off some of my item that I have no use for since I can no
longer play clarinet and have long since sold off my A and E-flt
instruments. I'm trying to raise money to put in savings toards a
$15,000 saxophone conversion of my Selmer alto to a one-handed
mechanism. So I was planning on selling the Buffet cover separately
on eBay

Does anyone know if you can get these "keys" from Buffet? Or how I
cango about getting them?

Daniel
