The harmonica virtuoso of my youth was Jerry Adler, who, among other solos,
was heard on the soundtrack of "Shane," "High Noon," "Mary Poppins" and
other films. His brother, Larry Adler, died on Mar. 13, and Jerry died on
Mar. 22. Jerry way 90 and Larry was 91.

Several concerti were written for Larry, who played only classical music,
but Jerry played a lot of jazz.

Larry got into deep doodie during the McCarthy era (may his name be blotted
out). Jerry worked steadily on cruise ships. He made a good living for
decades. Larry struggled during the Communist witch hunt.
