Obviously, 12 is an important number for many reasons.

It has a perfect number of positive divisors (6): 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and
12, and the sum of these is again a perfect number: 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 6
+ 12 = 28.

The reason I most like the number twelve is because it represents the
distance of the English foot or twelve english inches.
I find it much easier to come up with twelve inches than to come up
with eleven other players of quality who can all find a common
rehearsal time, day or date to rehearse any music that requires a
total of twelve.

Is David Whitwell still publishing wind ensemble editions and books on
music through his W.I.N.D.S. imprint? If so, what is the current
contact information?
