I agree totally with Sarah. He was a very interesting clarinettist. I heard
him live at one of the clarinet conferences in Denver in the mid-70s and he
played an excellent recital. I went backstage and met him and made the
remark that he reminded me of one of my teachers, Harold Wright. He liked
that.
Also, his recording of the Brahms' clarinet quintet with the Tel Aviv
Quartet is one of the best I've heard. It was on the Oiseau Lyre label.

Yesterday, after I posted this message, I got a shower of commercial
messages.
I would like to make clear that I had no commercial interest in this. I
have nothing to do with DOREMI, and will make no profite if people will buy
the CDs.
Yona Ettlinger was an interesting clarinetist and I thought that people
should know that its possible to listen to his recordings now.
