Clarinetist Stanley Drucker in Concert with The Eastern Wind Symphony on
February 28 at College of New Jersey in Ewing

Legendary clarinetist Stanley Drucker will be in concert with the
Eastern Wind Symphony, George Balog, Directors, on Sunday, February 28 –
4 PM in the Mildred and Ernest E. Mayo Concert Hall of the Music
Building on the campus of The College of New Jersey, 2000 Pennington
Road in Ewing, New Jersey.

Mr. Drucker will join the ensemble for von Weber’s Concertino for
Clarinet. Other works on the program include Vincent Persichetti’s
Divertimento for Band, an Armed Forces Medley – arr. Knox, ed.
Silvester, Symphonic Dance No. 3 ‘Fiesta’ by Williams, Zampa Overture by
Herold and In Storm and Sunshine by Heed, ed. Fennell.

At the conclusion of the 2008-2009 season, New York Philharmonic
Principal Clarinet Stanley Drucker celebrated 60 years as a member of
the Orchestra and announced his retirement. In honor of his 50th
anniversary, and in recognition of his highly respected and widely
acknowledged musical excellence and dedication, he was named Musical
America's 1998 Instrumentalist of the Year. He has made approximately
190 solo appearances with the Philharmonic since joining it at age 19.

The Philharmonic estimates that he has performed in 10,200 concerts,
which is approximately 70% of the total number of their concerts since
1842. He has been Principal Clarinetist for a record 48 years, playing
under 9 Music Directors, among them Bruno Walter, Dmitri Mitropolous,
Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez and Zubin Mehta. He has performed in 60
