Of course the best place it figure your sound is where you work, if you work
there almost all of the time. You will note that in a hall if you play and
move the clarinet towards different places in the room it will sound
differently and if you move to a different place on stage the same is true.
I probably just assume everyone is like me and is a free lancer that plays
in a different, studio, pit, or concert hall all the time.

The real sound you are getting is the sound where you always work based on
that set of circumstances. I am just saying outside there are no walls, or
ceiling to bounce off and that give one a better sense of the MP without
reverberation, microphone, sound board, recordist or anything else.

It is just something I like people trying out my mouthpieces to do since my
shop is a bit live. They always seem to appreciate the suggestion.
