I would add to Sean's posting that there are a lot of adults,
otherwise fine players, who haven't gotten beyond the Mozart and von
Weber concertos. I think it is likely and I certainly hope that the
availability of sheet music on the internet will change all of that.

Once the card catalogs of the world began to appear on the internet
around 1995, in the vernacular, I thought I had died and gone to
heaven. All of the great clarinet literature of the world at my
fingertips. What ecstasy!

Consistent with that thread, I've just finished sequencing the Louise
Farrenc Nonetto for winds and strings, but I can't release it until I
find another willing musician (whose instrument is in the score) to
play the world premiere Karaoke performance with me (and the
computer). Anyone want to trot out his favorite violinist or flutist
for me? I'm in southern California.
