That's interesting on a couple of levels. The first being how many
girls are in that band. That certainly doesn't mirror the situation at
the professional level, where the inverse seems to be the case.

As for the no sheet music thing - it's possible they've basically
drilled the music into those kids heads such that they just ended up
memorizing it.

Lastly, China's a populated place. I'm sure you could find students
here just as talented, but they don't have easy access to ensembles
like that shown here. China has a billion people after all. Even if
only 1 kid in 10,000 could play that well, when you've got 500
thousand kids to pool from, it's easy to throw a group like that
together.
