Hello again everyone,=0A=0ASo yesterday I played his solo Prelude and the w=
ell-known Three Miniatures with piano. Nothing to report about the unaccomp=
anied piece, but 2 areas had me wondering in the Miniatures: in the slow mo=
vement 2nd line 3rd- and 2nd-last bars, there's an odd slur under a slur be=
fore 2 repeated D's across the barline; I wondered if it was a mis-placed t=
ie, but maestro Penderecki definitely wants the D on the downbeat articulat=
ed, as it is customarily done. =0A=0ABut in the third movement, 4th-last li=
ne, 2nd-last bar, there's a C-natural right next to a B#, this is=A0usually=
played as 2 repeated C-naturals, but I wondered if the first=A0of these no=
tes=A0is actually a C# missing an accidental, and that is what he confirmed=
! This I think is a major change from how this piece has always been played=
and recorded. For those interested in such minutiae!=0A=0AHe did say with =
a slightly-resigned air; "You know, when a piece is played for so long, som=
etimes even the misprints start to sound familiar!".=0A=0AThanks for all th=
e interest from the list, it has been very rewarding to meet and interact w=
ith such a well-known composer,=0A=0APeter Stoll=0A=0APrincipal Clarinet,=
