Well, it may just be marketing. "Look, we have a significantly better =
reed, and we think that this is easily worth the cost of a box of good =
cane reeds, so here it is."

Or it may be higher manufacturing cost. I can say, from inspection, that =
the texturing on the vamp and tip is quite different than the prior =
Legere reeds. Also, while the back on the prior reeds is smooth, this =
one is textured. Not sure whether there are different materials, a =
different molding process, or different final finishing.

What I would wish they would do is dispense with the stick-on labels. =
Invariably, the ligature pushes them around, and they come off. So, what =
model and strength reed is this? Don't know. So, you resort to a Sharpie =
- for something I think they should have figured out by now.
