When I borrowed a bari sax to play a musical, it had no reed, so I borrowed
an old reed (Legere)from Heather, our band's contralto player - It worked
fine in that direction, so I suspect it would work the other way also. I
used Vandoren contra reeds (that I'd picked up in a going out of business
sale) for the gig, and they worked fine also. My reed philosophy is,
'whatever works', and you really don't know until you try.
