Hello!
As a R13 afficiando, I'm a tad confused. Most references at my disposal suggest Buffet manufacturing records were pretty much lost re Buffet production from 1946-1955 or so. The ending s/n in 1945 was ~28,000; start in 1958 was 58835. Purportedly, ~3,000 were cranked out annually during this time frame. Hence, if this is in fact correct, a Buffet with s/n 42,xxx may have been marketed during 1950 to 1951. This is the source of my confusion, as the R13 was purportedly released in 1955 -- four to five years _after_ your horn was made. Hey -- absolutely NO disrespect here -- a beautiful rose is a beautiful rose, regardless of its botanical moniker or source. You are indeed lucky to have a pre-Arthur, if this be the case. On the other hand, is it really is a 1950-51 R13?
Mostly rhetorical ramblings...
