Dear Fernando,

I gave the Japanese premier of "Brooklyn Bridge" by Michael
Daugherty, and it's a pretty good piece. It's 30 minutes, four
movements. Lots of loud, high, stuff. Some jazzy/pop music (as with
all his compositions).

Two better original pieces that I know for Clarinet and Band are: the
Brian Israel Concerto, and Scott McAllister's "X" Both are fantastic!

Additionally, the Artie Shaw "Concerto" is lots of fun, though it was
originally written for a jazz band, that's a band nonetheless. There
is a full band version, which I have performed, but the conductor I
did it will jealously guards his photocopied parts. It's a super
crowd-pleaser, though, and ends with a slide from high G to double-high C.

There is also the 4 minute Alfred Reed "Serenade", based on Lakota
Sioux melodies. Its very thickly orchestrated, and kind of dull,
though pretty. What it's really good for is if you're playing two
shorter pieces, this is an excellent choice to accompany something
contrasting, like the Shaw.

There are many great arrangements, but I know you're looking for an
original piece. On my repertoire page, I list several.

Have fun!
