I think the players voted to allow inverted metal ligatures some years ago,
instead of the traditional string. They are not Bonades, but are similar.
They don't work with the Boehm mouthpieces well. My friend Michele Zukovsky
can change a reed faster with her string than I can with a Bonade. Berlin
has not made the change, yet. This information comes from a friend in
Vienna, who shall remain anonymous. You know how the Viennese players
are.....
