I played the Boehm model last year at the Michaelstein clarinet history
conference, for about 20 minutes. I found it truly excellent in all
respects, considerably superior to my top-range Buffet; mainly in the
keywork quality/accuracy and (though this is subjective preference) the
sound.

I believe they are pretty expensive!

The competition would be a custom made Stephen Fox, or a Wurlitzer Schmidt
Reform Boehm.

Did you see the Schwenk & Seggelke Bass Clarinet on Page 38 of The Clarinet
(December 2009)? It looks slick. Does anybody have any intel on
it...sound, playability, etc.?
