That's an interesting way to put it. Although it might be quite
reasonable to conduct a poll on which interpretation the performers
PREFER, the question of which one is more "accurate" is not subject to
opinion. In fact, like the many questions surrounding the Mozart
Clarinet Concerto, this question will probably never be answered,
because the author is no longer available to resolve the issue. Unless
a manuscript exists, all we have are potentially flawed editions and the
opinions of interpreters.
