Fred....

The point is....the work the musicians do....has value. The decision of the MET's board to (post contract) to use that
work to make more money....than was negotiated against....made it necessary (per contract terms) to renegotiate the
contract....this to take into account the additional revenue made as a result of the musicians work.

Considering the amount of money involved....the musicians didn't do as well as they should have.

But they weren't doing anything MORE to get that much more pay. I
would have LOVED someone to come to me one weekday morning and say,
"hey Fred, we just raised your salary $28000 and you don't have to do
anything more". WOW. I am stunned. But happy for them.
