Lee Ann....in other words....this ballet company is NOT hurting in the money area. Again....6.1 million dollar
budget....
There are many questions about where and how this money is spent.

There are even more questions about how this group got into the new arts district in Dallas....(can you say...one of the
two board members for the ballet, who received part of the $700,000 in pay from the company.....just happens to be on
the governing board for the new arts halls in Dallas. Yikes....

The moved to canned music began a long time ago -- about 20 years ago or
more (from personal experience). It would seem that there must be a person
in the area capable of grant writing and a philanthropic organization
awarding a grant to fund the music. If every musician who plays in a bar or
every small venue were to chip in a dollar per gig, I'd bet an orchestra could
be funded. For shame!

Well if you ask me, it sounds like that's the beginning of the end for
the ballet around here. If they can't even manage to hire a live
orchestra for the one ballet everyone takes their kids to see (ballet
fans or not), their days are numbered.

There's a reason people usually give Tchaikovsky the credit for
writing The Nutcracker, you know, and it ain't the choreography....
