The amount of time needed to run/update/maintain a popular site is
grossly underestimated by the general user. For instance, reviewing logs
daily for errors/breakin attempts/indexing status (there's over a half
million records online of posts both here and on the woodwind.org forums
to check on) takes up a dedicated half an hour every morning. That's
before I put in an 8-10 hour day at my "regular" job. Then there's
answering emails, updating the calendar of events, and checking the
forum posts (with the fantastic help of Glenn Kantor!). Along with that,
I'm rebuilding the WFG and will be rebuilding all the other parts of
woodwind.org to modernize them and get them in sync with each other.
I've made quite a few starts that went nowhere before, but this time I
actually have a plan :)
