Subj: [kl] Bellison clarinet ensemble--"clarini"

Does anyone have a clue about this?

Programs of Bellison's Clarinet ensemble list what appear to be a number
of younger clarinet students playing "clarini", (including at one time,
a young David Oppenheim.)
They rank in the program after the 3rd clarinets.

(No, this is NOT the Renaissance clarino !)

I have the impression that this is some kind of simplified, maybe
smaller, beginner clarinet popular in the 30s, but would appreciate any
tips on solving this question.
FYI, on the programs, the E-flat and A-flat clarinets are credited to
other,players.

Cheers,

Margaret Thornhill
