I have an Eddie Daniels ED1, which is much easier to do glisses on
than was my previous mouthpiece, a Gigliotti P34. The Daniels is a
tad bit more open, but not much. It has a 1.04 mm facing, which is
still on the close or medium-close side of the scale. I'm not sure
why it's so much better at glisses and pitch bending (other than the
obvious fact that it was designed by a jazz musician), but it is.
