I don't think so - per these sources, it's of Celtic origin, from a root =
meaning "strength".

It's actually "with fire", is it not?

Hi.
"Allegro" is an indication for the speed of execution, i.e. for the =
"tempo". "Con brio" adds "with vivacity" to such indication.
Interpreting such indications is seldom a mechanical approach, but if =
you need a naive recipe, take the metronome and look at the range =
corresponding to "Allegro": "Allegro con brio" is in the faster part of =
that range.
Personally, I don't tend to interpret "con brio" as a more detailed =
specification on the "tempo", but as a suggestion on the mood of the =
player :-)
I hope this is helpful.
