THAT question I can answer, being a technogeek.

It is a common to find spam messages with a date somewhat in the
future. Whether this is a sign of carelessness or a carefully
engineered plot to make their messages always appear at the top of your
inbox is a matter for the criminal psychologists to debate. Since it is
presumed that a legitimate email sender will not have a wildly incorrect
date for very long, many of the aggressive spam filters now classify a
"post-dated" message as spam.
