Whenever I review a concert, I try to mention the name of the first
performer. In this case, the fact that the work is Beethoven's first
significant work to include a clarinet in a prominent position, I want to
mention the player. On the same program is the Brahms trio and I intend to
mention Mühlfeld. The concert that I will be reviewing includes Anthony
McGill.
