Dan -

Zankel Hall is underneath Carnegie Hall, with the entrance on 7th
Avenue. It used to be a movie theater. It has 599 seats, a bit more
than twice as many as Weil (formerly Carnegie Recital) Hall. See
<http://www.carnegiehall.org/article/the_basics/art_overview.html>.

The shape is an elongated shoebox, the acoustics are excellent, and
the seats are very comfortable. They've done an amazing job blocking
out the noise from the subway. It's quieter than the main hall
(Stern).

So come to NYC already. I don't do candy, but I'll be happy to share
a pizza, or a Carnegie Deli pastrami.
