I think you'll get mixed views on oiling, but keeping the humidity up in the
case is very important when you live in a dry climate. Putting those
humidifiers in the horn isn't the best of moves, but there are a number of
good case humidifiers out there.

If you can't find one of the pretty ones, take a medicine bottle, poke holes
in it and put a damp sponge inside. I know others who swear by a piece of
orange peel inside the case as well.
