I've just recently moved to Phoenix (from Oklahoma), and a fellow
clarinet player here was telling me that I should be sure to keep my
horn oiled regularly, and she also suggested a sort of humidity insert
to keep inside my clarinet while it's in its case, because of the lack
of natural humidity here.

I wanted to get some expert opinions on this. Is she right, or is she
an alarmist?
